We encourage our sponsors and donors to contribute to us and help in building a good life for the poor and needy. “He said also to the one who had invited him, ‘When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.’ ” (Luke 14:12-14). The doctrine mentions that for any individual to find success and to be truly blessed, serving the poor and needy is the best act. Therefore, when private sponsors get associated with us, they gain an opportunity to resurrect the needy and engage in the righteous engagements. (Proverbs 19:17) “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” This substantiates the argument that God rewards those who help the poor (Hall, 2019).
